  1. Awesome blog! I'm proud of you too Deanna. You're not cheap, you're frugal and smart. Money management will come in handy when you get older. Fuel cost? - what can I say - Americans are spoiled ;) Couldn't get the slideshow to appear, so could not click to get to flickr. Anyone else having that problem? Keep them coming Deanna, you're making us want to travel again :)

  2. Nice photos. The houses look like the ones in Curacao. They are very colorful. Great stories you are including. Keep them coming.

Jess, I was able to view the photos tonight.

  4. This must have been exported to Sweden and explains all the ice creme gorging you are doing. This came from a newsletter I get at the office:

"Still recovering from the big holiday weekend?
You didn't miss it, did you? Last Sunday (July 18) was National Ice Cream Day. Really. In 1984, President Ronald Reagan proclaimed the third Sunday in July to be National Ice Cream Day. Baskin Robbins announced last week that, as part of its celebration of National Ice Cream Day, it was putting five of its flavors into "deep freeze." The flavors that will no longer be available are: Caramel Praline Cheesecake, Campfire S'mores, Apple Pie a la Mode, Superfudge Truffle and ... FRENCH VANILLA!!! (What are they thinking?)

Those five will join other flavors in deep freeze, such as Miami Ice created in 1986, Sesame Sweet created in 1972, and Whyte 2K Chocolate Overload created in 2000.

If you missed this important national holiday, not to worry. Not satisfied with a single day devoted to ice cream, President Reagan proclaimed July to be National Ice Cream Month."
